The views were excellent from our room which added to the feel of a more relaxing break.
Did not think much of the cooked breakfast.
The location of hotel was great as it was easy to get to places and also the room sizes were good allowing us to have 2 cots in the room
Beds were a bit soft but overall a lovely stay and definately somewhere we would stay again.
For the comfort and convienence. Staff were very helpful
The hotel commands an impressive location. It is clearly geared up for weddings so during the week it did appear to be very quiet. My room (12) was excellent - good view and very clean. Breakfast was cooked to order and was very good. Staff all helpful, free wireless worked, WIll definitley stay here again if in this part of the country.
It was quite difficult to find using satnav. The hotel website gives an alternative postcode as theirs doesn't work but even so it took a while to locate. Not the hotel's fault obviously and I don't know what they could do about it, but it's the only fault I could mention.
This is a wonderful hotel with views over fields to Cardiff Bay. It's in the countryside, yet is only a 15 minute drive to the excellent shops in Cardiff. There golf courses and country walks fairly near. The views and the hotel itself make it an ideal wedding venue. The various separate conference rooms also make it a good business meeting place. Most importantly all the staff are friendly and helpful. The menu was varied and the food very well presented and tasty.
The hotel's understandable popularity meant that meals took a while to be served, but were excellent when they did arrive. The reason was that there was a wedding when we arrived and the staff were under pressure to serve so many people. On other days there were parties in other rooms who were being catered for, which contributed to delays. There did not seem to be enough staff, but they remained very pleasant. The day we arrived we had trouble getting past all the Wedding guests and photographers. We had to carry our cases through them all and we could not see which door to enter. Nobody seemed to mind, but it was a bit disconcerting.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The scenery is great, and the gardens are lovely to sit in. It is conveniently placed for visiting Cardiff.
The bedroom was a bit cold during the evening, but we couldn't find a heating control. We stayed Friday-Sunday, and we had party noise late at night on the Friday/Saturday nights.
My wife and I stayed at the Best Western for a wedding, which I must say was an excellent venue, from the Hotel to the facilities and the staff we could find no fault. The food was excellent as was the hearty breakfast we all started our days with. The rooms were very confortable and having a disabled member of the family we found getting round the hotel was easy especially as the groundfloor bedrooms were above the average that we had stayed in before....very impressive, will certainly recommend this hotel to all travellers to Cardiff
The room was fantastic as was the peace and quiet. staff were helpful, polite and courteous
I have now stayed at the hotel on three occasions. The rooms are first class, food very good and the staff could not be more helpful.
Liked the hotel because it was extremely clean and the bedroom was excellent. Also the breakfast was good and the staff very helpful. Really cannot fault the hotel.
Comfortable bed, spacious room, in updated Country Manor house setting on magnificent grounds with fantastic view of the Cardiff valley.
Situation.. peace and quiet and near M4
Easy parking, nice relaxed feel, great bed and large comfortable, clean rooms
Hard to find, SatNav wrong destination, call before traveling.
The hotel was so much better than I expected and the food was fantastic
The hotel was very comfortable, pleasant and very good value for money
